EventShots: The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards + Performances

So the Grammy awards were pretty funny. The funny part about it is that the mainstream superstar artists lose to no name bands and what not. I mean I am not knocking Kings Of Leon, but come on. I must be stuck in some matrix of minority because I don’t hear alot of people actually talking about Kings Of Leon. The highlight nominations of the night were obviously Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

The BEST performances that were given would have to be Pink and Lady Gaga. I would have said Beyonce if she sang Sweet Dreams or something more upbeat. I know “Poker Face” is old but she just did a little clip of it. On the other hand Beyonce sang “If I Were A Boy” which is BEYOND OLD. She tried to mix it up but it just didn’t work as well as she wanted it to.

I really wish Melanie Fiona won in the Best Female RnB Vocal Performance. But when you are going against a fierce force such as Beyonce then you should never entertain the thought of winning. The best moments of the Grammy Awards was when Rihanna was looking at Beyonce walk up on the stage in a dress that she wore in a photoshoot and Pink’s performance when she is half naked, wet and spinning around in the air.

Funniest moments would have to be the 3-D Michael Jackson tribute when Usher got on his knees trying to sing all extra hard and what you didn’t see is Taylor Swift dropping one of her Grammy’s in the press room. Twitter fans were going crazy last night looking for 3-D glasses to watch the performance. One girl said “I’m about to turn this off because this 3-D sh*t is looking f*cked up on my tv“. All in all, the Grammy’s were great. I would have been mad if it was any higher than a great. More “wow” means more money and we are in a recession.
