3view: Ollusion by Omarion

Coverview/

I’m getting a grown-n-sexy/secret agent look from Omarion newest studio album Ollusion here, very nice. Mild colors with a few accents, crisp/groomed appeal, visible trademark in the backdrop. Love the “Omarion” race-y effect with the font; sort of plays off the album title a bit. Oh, what’s this? Well, someone loves himself some Carreras (?), if anything they sure do look Carrera-inspired with its intense ridge streaks on the top and sides. Though they looks quite  bulky to be Carreras, maybe this is a new collection? Anyway, these types of shades are all over his site promo etc.

With that being said, you can now listen to Omarion’s forthcoming album Ollusion on Amazon in snippets. For the most part it sounds very much urban/hip-hop with the same rhymic, melodic sounds Omarion is known for. I’m hearing a lot of snare incorporation mixed in with snap music influences, heavy bass and wah wah-like instrumentation also. As far as vocals, there are high sopranic (falsetto) increments as well as some mid-tones here and there. There are also some explicit rap bars and lullaby impressions that are ever so relevant right now that you have to appreciate Omarion’s contemporary approach.

Review/

As far as my personal standouts aside singles, would be most of 253‘s percussion-fused tracks but specially Speedin for its stringy verbrito production,  Sweet Hangover for it’s uncanny T-Pain production and I Think My Girl Is Bi for its Southern, “trippy” feel production-wise, compliments of Tank who also collaborated. To conclude, Ollusion, from its overall keen contemporary effort, sounds like an eclectic batch of melodic, radio-friendly R&B tunes stamped with Omarion-appeal.  Ollusion on Wikipedia.
